Kevin is a member of the TiLE (Trends in Leisure and Entertainment) conference committee,
having chaired the conference in May 2000
. The lastconference was in 2007 in Lake Como.
TiLE is the European conference and exhibition for the leisure industry.
Kevin is also European President for TEA - The organisation for Creators of Compelling
Places and Experiences.
Unfortunately it had to go, but I used to own a rather special 308GTS modified to celebrate
Mansells wins in Formula 1
Kevin has worked on supplying complex Audio-Visual systems around the World.
After college, he worked in the Department of Education
& Science laboratories developing physics
and electronics experiments, which included running courses for teachers. This was at
Ivy Farm in
Knockholt - an old secret communications post during the war. The lab specialised in Physics,
Biology, Chemistry and workshop
skills, developing Nuffied experiments and working closely with
Her Majestys Inspectors - HMI's for schools!
He has been in the Audio-Visual
business since 1977, leaving the DES lab and joining another part of
the Department - The Natural History Museum in London. Joining
as a technician, after a couple of
years he took over a small team which grew to 10 people, developing Audio-Visual technology and
exhibits and well as developing media shows - slide, video and multimedia computer based games.
This team was called the Special Effects
Section and it worked closely with internal Museum designers
at the cutting edge of exhibition design and technology.
In 1987, Kevin
joined Electrosonic, then in Woolwich, as a Product Manager and he went on to form
the Leisure Division - working on Museum, Science
and Heritage projects literally around the World.
With some success, this model was replicated in the US and beyond making Lesiure
& Entertainment an
important part of the business and Group activities.
Kevin went through roles as General Manager, Sales Director
and Systems Director, and formed
Electrosonic LLC in Dubai in 2007. He left in November 2007 to take some time out with travels.
In
March 2008, Kevin joined Event Communications as Development Director. Event is Europes leading
exhibition designer, providing a
complete range of design services including consultancy on
masterplanning, interpretative planning, 3D design, graphic design and
project management.
